Banresh - a meeting place, usually the intersection of several passageways leading to individual Sidhe quarters. Bhru'fek'la - a bulbous plant that expands as it matures, filling with air until the thin outer membrane ruptures, throwing spores as far as 20 dets. Caresh - a temporary union of multiple Sidhe, both male and female, in order to procreate. A caresh requires at least three members, provided all are a minimum of approximately 1,000 lectines, or were the product of a particularly powerful caresh themselves. However, most caresh are joinings of four to seven individuals in order to ensure a diversity of physical, intellectual and character traits, and to more thinly spread the draining of energy that procreation requires. Det - a measure of distance equivalent to approximately 14 inches. Dun - the deep caverns that have been carved under the surface of Dunal, where the Sidhe have been migrating for approximately 8,000 lectines as the surface of the planet became more and more uninhabitable. Fan - cycles of the sun approximately equivalent to 30 earth hours. The word can also imply a cycle of waking, sleeping and meditating and therefore relates to a state of mental and emotional readiness. Fanshea - a concept that incorporates both time and space, generally meaning vast stretches of both. Geesta - a spongy, living moss - like substance designed to almost instantly form a cushion at the touch of a warm, living body. G'nagal - one who serves. Ka'a - the psychic dimension (see Ka'queha). Ka'queha - a deep meditative state. Lectines - a measure of time, approximately equivalent to 18 earth months. Ptal'ne - Irridescent ferns that are gentically designed to change their level and intensity of light based on the level of movement of the Sidhe. Sidhe - the name of the beings currently occupying the planet Dunal, orbiting a fast - decaying sun. V'tah - the female member of the caresh chosen to bear the physical embodiment of the result of a caresh joining. Her character and energy has the most influence over the resulting progeny, but the larger the caresh, the less noticeable the influence of any one individual, and the greater the initial strength of the progeny's control over Ka'a. |
