RECENT UPDATE INFO:
June 2, 2008: At long last, Chapter 11 to Origins has been posted. Previous chapters can be access via the WIP page
January 12, 2008: An HL/Torchwood crossover story, for your reading pleasure. It has slash implications (Methos/Jack and Methos/Duncan - Methos is such a slut!), but nothing specific. Summary: Methos is kidnapped by a mysterious man from his past... or is it his future? Presenting: Paradox.
January 10, 2008: At long last, Chapter 10 to Origins has been posted. Previous chapters can be access via the WIP page.
April 12, 2007: Well, I'm afraid I got distracted. Sorry about that, but I am posting eight parts of a rather odd story I've been working on, called "To Touch the Face", which can be found on the WIP page. It's all the things you love to hate: a WIP; a Crossover (with "Constantine"); it's unbeta'd (mostly because it started out as such a strange notion that I didn't want to inflict it on anyone); it features a non-Highlander character (the Archangel Gabriel). If you are an adherent to conservative Christian religious doctrine (in which case it's unlikely you're here at all), you might find it offensive. Mostly, it's supposed to amuse. It amuses me, at any rate. And now that I have those chapters up, I promise I will return to writing "Origins."
January 8, 2007: I know I've been very, very slow, and I really appreciate any poor soul who is still paying attention after all this time, but Chapter Nine of "Origins" is up on the WIP page.
August 6, 2006: Chapter Eight of "Origins", as well as a link to a dictionary of Sidhe terms are up on the WIP page.
June 16, 2006: Chapters Six and Seven of "Origins", as well as a link to a dictionary of Sidhe terms are all up on the WIP page.
March 18, 2006: Chapter Five of "Origins" is up here. I've now put links to all the chapters on the WIP page.
February 21, 2006: Chapter Four of "Origins" is up here.
January 20, 2006: Chapter Three of "Origins" is up here.
December 31, 2005: I've been tinkering with a story for almost two years, and was generally very unhappy with it for a long time, convinced that it would never see the light of day. But thanks to the encouragement of Sonia and Cinel, and their patient beta efforts, I re-worked and re-written extensively, and am now prepared to post Great Expectations. Rated NC-17. Slash. Happy New Year, everyone!
December 17, 2005: Chapter Two of "Origins" is up here. I expect to be posting about once a month, presuming I can get going on the latter part of the story soon. Again, if anyone has any artwork or backgrounds they can recommend, I would love to hear about it.
November 23, 2005: Look at me! Two updates in one month!! On advice of counsel (namely some fellow writers), I am actually going to start posting a WIP. The story is "Origins" and posting it is a little bit of self-defense against new canon that might be established by the upcoming HL movie, "The Source". I've been working on the story for two years, and have gotten a little bogged down (I'm about 2/3rds through), and I'm hopeful that posting it in parts will help spur me on to more energetically resolving the conundrums I have created for myself. In any event, you may find the first chapter of "Origins" here. If anyone has any artwork or backgrounds they can recommend, I would love to hear about it.
November 3, 2005: Finally finished the remix story I had promised Unovis. It is a reworking of Killa's wonderful "Solstice", although I fear it doesn't do the original justice. It's called "As Strong as Death" and can be found on my Under the Boardwalk page.
June 1, 2005: I know. It's been a year. It's been a very busy, wonderfully accomplished year for me, but all that activity left no room in the creative part of my brain for writing. It was frustrating not to have any real urge to write because I enjoy it so. I have had a couple of stories in process, one that has been virtually abandoned as dreck not worth the effort, and one (another epic) that I still occassionally open and tinker with. Anyway, this is a PWP that is in response to Unovis' Bar Story Challenge on her lj, and done primarily to just write *something*. It's short and hardly particularly original, but it's a story, right? It's slash, it's called Turns, and the usual disclaimers apply.
June 1, 2004: I have been posting summaries and commentaries of the episode dvds, and after a number of requests to make the available online, I have put them up HERE, and added them to the navigation bar menu list on my main page. FYI, yes, I am still working on a story (or two), but real life has been an extraordinary adventure this last year, and has kept me distracted on other creative endeavors. Your patience is very much appreciated.
January 1, 2004: In February of 2003, the wonderful artist "X" published (by hand) a stunning zine of her own art work, for charity. A number of fandoms were represented, and multiple writers provided "bystander" stories to go with the beautiful pictures. The zine instantly sold out and is no longer available to purchase, and as a New Year's gift to everyone, X has allowed early net publication of the stories. The entire zine contents (in Adobe format) is here. My own modest contribution (plus X's Highlander picture on which it was based) is now available, and is titled: The Playground.
December 20, 2003:I know, I know. It's been a while, but "Brothers Under the Skin" took a lot out of me, and I've been slow to get back to writing. I've also had a lot of other creative outlets in the past six months, and that kind of bleeds off my writing energies. In any event, I have been writing, just very, very slowly, still have a very long way to go on my latest story. But I've gotten some queries about what's coming up, and just to reassure everyone that yes, I *am* still writing, I've posted a teeny little teaser on the WIP Page.
August 10, 2003:Ta, Da! At long, long last my ugly, difficult-to-navigate site is updated. My artistic skills are nortoriously bad, but I hope the site is easier to understand and navigate. I am pleased with the results, especially the integration of the whole Immortal Nations set of stories. I am sure I have missed or screwed up some links along the way, so if anyone sees a problem, I would appreciate you letting me know.
August 3, 2003: I was rummaging through my unfinished story snippets file yesterday, putting together pieces of a started-but-never-completed epic that will be my next big project, when I stumbled across a bit I wrote about five years ago, after I had finished Endgame. It is just a snippet, but it is a done as it is likely to get, so I'm posting it as a postscript to Endgame. It's called Checkmate, and has overtones of the difficulties to come in Mac's and Methos' relationship that are played out in the epic Immortal Nations - United Nations, Divided Souls.
July 20, 2003: Well, it's been a while, but I now have a new story posted. This one is a little, uh, different and not for the faint of heart. It's called Brothers Under the Skin.
April 19, 2003: Happy Easter and Passover to you all. This ugly war has kept a lot of the lists fairly silent as we all contemplated issues and events far more involving than fanfiction. In addition, my son is getting married in a week, I've suddenly acquired two full grown cats, and life is a little complicated. But rest assured writing, however slowly, is proceeding. Like much of my work, it is not a fluffy bunny story. As a matter of fact, it is ... well perhaps I'd better just direct you to a short teaser on my WIP page.
March 22, 2003:I have not previously used this space as a forum for political expression, but the present circumstances demand something other than passive acceptance. I fully support and wish safety and peace to those serving in our armed forces, but I cannot and do not support President Bush in his unilateral aggression against a country whose tinpot dictator has wreacked havoc only on his own people, with no definitive proof that he has, or even if he has, is capable of using weapons of mass destruction against this or any other country.
However, war is now upon us, and attention should be focused on helping those displaced or injured as a result of that conflict. A good place to start is a donation to Oxfam.
March 10, 2003:I have written a report, both on the HL Panel I co-moderated at Escapade, and a more comprehensive report on the entire con.
February 11, 2003: With gratitude to Cinel and Tritorella for patient beta'ing throughout the last year, the concluding chapter, Part XII, of Digitabulum Magae is now posted. The entire story can be found on the WIP page, however, it will be moved from there to the Under the Boardwalks index shortly.
December 24, 2002: With much gratitude to Cinel for patient beta'ing and re-beta'ing, I have reposted Part XI of Digitabulum Magae. Many may not perceive much of a difference, but I hope the emotional context is a little more clear. The entire story to date can be found on the WIP page. Happy holidays to one and all!
December 18, 2002: Okay, okay, for those of you who saw the temporary posting of Part XI of DM, and were upset when I pulled it back down, a word of explanation. The chapter received some critical commentary, which is always welcome. I didn't necessarily agree with the comments, but I proceeded to then check privately with some friends outside the original circle of commentators and after those discussions decided that there was at least one aspect of the chapter that needed some work.
No, I am not pulling the story! Yes, I am working on it! It's tricky, because I'm not really sure how to fix the 'problem' without creating other, even more serious problems. I have never purported to write stories without flaws (Lord knows!), but when I am aware of them, I try to fix them.
Never fear. Valid criticism is a good thing and helps a writer become better. While I have rarely (thankfully) been the target of any truly mean-spirited, non-constructive commentary, when it does occur it is ignored as irrelevant.
October 28, 2002:Part X of Digitabulum Magae has been posted. All currently posted chapters can be reached on my WIP page.
October 6, 2002:Part IX of Digitabulum Magae has been posted. All currently posted chapters can be reached on my WIP page.
September 21, 2002:Part VIII of Digitabulum Magae has been posted. All currently posted chapters can be reached on my WIP page. I also receivd a lovely present from a Digitabulum Magae reader, a talented artist who was originally a fan of the Witchblade cartoon art style. She has done her own tribute to the story, posted HERE. You can send her compliments by clicking HERE.
August 30, 2002:The 7th and final chapter of Forging the Blade -- Kithe and Kin, is now up! Text only versions of both parts of Forging the Blade can be found on the Simplified Index Page.
August 25, 2002: At last! Part VII of Digitabulum Magae has been posted. All currently posted chapters can be reached on my WIP page.
August 6, 2002:Just a little snippet of a surprise. As close to a piece of fluff as I'm likely to get, called Life Drawing. Rating? I couldn't really figure it out, so you'll just have to go on blind faith.
July 31, 2002: At last! Part VI of Digitabulum Magae has been posted. All currently posted chapters can be reached on my WIP page.
July 11, 2002:Chapter 6 of Forging the Blade -- Kithe and Kin, is now up!
June 24, 2002:My China Journal is still undergoing revision as more pictures are being made available through other members of the group with whom I traveled, but I thought it was time to put up a link.
Yes, I am writing fanfiction, too (always). The next chapter of Kithe and Kin is nearing completion, and then I will turn my attention to an update to Digitabulum Magae. The next season of "Witchblade" is now showing on TNT on Monday nights. While I think they've screwed around with some of the characterizations, it is still a fascinating show about a kick-ass woman who isn't more concerned about her hairstyle than about getting the bad guys. I recommend it.
June 17, 2002: "The time has come," the Walrus said, "To speak of many things." Six months has now passed since the first release of "Futures Without End IV," and editors Ellen, Melina and Maygra, have kindly allowed the release of the stories to the net. Therefore, my story, Kriegers Ahnung (Warrior's Lament) is now available, complete with breathtaking artwork by Killa.
I wish to thank my readers for their patience as I recoup from three weeks of exhausting travel, followed by a week of an unexpected influx of in-laws. I'm still trying to catch up on various real life obligations, but when I've had a moment to write, I've been concentrating on Kithe and Kin, since that story has languished the longest since the last posted chapter, and been working on my journal of my travels in China, which I will also post here. Then the next chapter of Digitabulum Magae will receive my concentrated attention, I assure you.
In the meantime, if you are looking for good stuff to read, the other stories from the FWEIV zine can all be found HERE. Happy reading!
May 14, 2002: : Part V of Digitabulum Magae has been posted. For all those anxious for more Digitabulum and more Kithe and Kin, I am going out of the country for three weeks, and expect to be completely exhausted when I get back, so please be patient about the next chapters of both epics.
April 18, 2002: : Part IV of Digitabulum Magae has been posted.
April 9, 2002: : Part III of Digitabulum Magaehas been posted.
March 20, 2002: :Tis the first day of Spring, and Part II of Digitabulum Magae is now posted. Due to the significant reaction to this story from all you kind readers and the resultant acquisition of several betas who are helping me keep my eye on the ball in this complex story, I will shortly start posting it on HLAllfic and a couple of the Witchblade lists. To those who are anxious for more Kithe and Kin, I'm working on the research for Chapter 6, and formulating the structure of that chapter is next on my writing agenda.
March 3, 2002: :Ta Da!! Chapter 5 ofForging the Blade -- Kithe and Kin, is now up!
February 21, 2002:First, all you wonderfully supportive readers who have been wondering where the heck the next chapter of Kithe and Kin is, it is approximately three-fourths complete. I needed a whole plot device that takes Connor to Aberdeen, and to do research on that city as it was in the 17th Century and...yadda, yadda, yadda. I know, I knforow, it all sounds like a lame excuse, but I've written several pages this week, and hope to have it done soon.
However....when my mind can't seem to wrap itself around that story, it turns to other, more mischevious activities, and I seem to have wandered off the beaten path a little with a new story, entitled Digitabulum Magae It is a crossover with Witchblade: The Original Series, and features two very strange (and quite fascinating) men from that universe. The confluence of circumstances between the two universes started to fascinate me (did you know there is an ancient organization of Witchblade Watchers? Bizarre, eh?). I will not be posting the story on any lists until it is complete, so any input on these early drafts would be extremely appreciated.
January 20, 2002:Social Graces is now complete, and can be accessed through the Work In Process page. Another reminder that I now have a Simplified Index Page that has *all* the stories on it (except Social Graces), in alpha order, with links to both .txt and .zip versions.
December 9, 2001:Chapter Two of Social Graces is now posted, and can be accessed through the Work In Process page. Another reminder that I now have a Simplified Index Page that has *all* the stories on it (except Social Graces), in alpha order, with links to both .txt and .zip versions.
November 20, 2001:Ta Da!! Part II of Forging the Blade -- Kithe and Kin, is now mounted, including some graphics from killa, and from the original Highlander movie, and includes Chapter 4, not previously posted. I have also posted a new, Simplified Index Page that has *all* the stories on it, in alpha order, with links to both .txt and .zip versions.
October 20, 2001:After a year of determined, dedicated struggle, Maygra de Rhema and I have posted a sequel to The Ragged Edge. It is truly a sequel, titled Standing on the Edge of Never, so knowing what happened in the earlier story will alleviate at least some confusion from any plot twists. The story is posted on the Under the Boardwalk page.
October 16, 2001:The third chapter of Part II of Forging the Blade has been posted on various lists (including HLAllFic), but I do not have the graphics ready for putting them up here (soon, soon -- sorry). I can send you the chapters, if you're desperate. I prefer to do it as a Word attachment, so if that doesn't work for you, please tell me. IN THE MEANTIME: I have posted the first chapter of a bit of slashy (NC-17) fluff, titled Social Graces. It can be found on the Work In Process page.
October 5, 2001: I know many readers have been awaiting the posting of Part II of Forging the Blade. I have posted Chapters One and Two on various lists (including HLAllFic), but do not have the graphics ready for putting them up here. If there are readers who are not on any of those lists, and are just too desperate for something to read to wait <g>, write me, and I can send you the chapters. I prefer to do it as a Word attachment, so if that doesn't work for you, please tell me. IN THE MEANTIME: I have posted a short story, titled 'Tis a Gift. It is rated PG-13, but has slash implications.
June 22, 2001:The ninth and Concluding chapter of Forging the Blade: The Wilderness Years is up and can be accessed through the Work In Process page.

May 30, 2001:Had a bit of heartache, and relieved it by writing a little essay about it (not fanfic related). It is titled Ode to an Old Cranky, Cat.
May 24, 2001:The fifth chapter of The Wilderness Years is up and can be accessed through the Work In Process page.
May 18, 2001:The fourth chapter of The Wilderness Years is up and can be accessed through theWork In Process page.

March 20, 2001:A little gifty. An addition to my pictures page. The kata. Yes, that one from the movie. You know the one. It can be found here.
March, 19 2001: I have gotten a surprising amount of feedback for The Wilderness Years in the past three weeks, all of it extremely positive and supportive. I am deeply grateful to those who have written in. Your comments have helped me tremendously as I try to formulate this rather ambitious project of filling in all the blanks of Duncan's formative years. In part because of that feedback, I am pulling the story for a few weeks, working through some of the details to make it a better, more coherent and historically plausible tale. When it goes back up, I will make announcements on the various lists, as well as posting a notice here. Again, thank you for all your helpful and supportive comments. MacG
March ,9 2001:Chapter Twoof Forging the Blade - Part I - the Wilderness Years. is now posted. Duncan has been rejected by his father and his clan as a demon and now must find a way to cope with what has happened, emotionally and physically. Many thanks to Killa for providing some marvelous captures of the flashbacks to Duncan's early years.
February 25, 2001: A new arc of stories has been started on the Work In Process page. The arc has a working title of Forging the Blade, and Chapter 1 of Part I of the first section "The Wilderness Years" has been posted.
January 20, 2001: At long last!!!! The final chapter, Chapter Twelve of Penance is now posted. This is a continuation of the Immortal Nations saga. The entire story can be reached through the Work In Process page.
Midnight - December 31, 2000: Chapter

In Process page, but will shortly be moved to the Boardwalk
